Who we are

Organic Sourdough Bakery is a bakery born in the community.

Mid of last year, we established a micro bakery from our living/kitchen room and founded Organic Sourdough Bakery to change how people look at Sourdough Bread and make sure that no more commercial yeast is added to our bread.

Within a couple of weeks, we attracted a huge amount of people down the road from our little flat and quickly our business started to grow massively and people are showing love to sourdough and the traditional way of making bread.

 
85% of bread that is bought in supermarkets and comes from large factories is made with wheat that’s been grown unsustainably, it has risen fast, and it’s packed full of additives to make it preserve for longer and with a sour flavour that has nothing to do with Sourdough Bread.
 
Commercial yeast was just invented over 100 years ago and dramatically alters the flavour and digestibility of wheat. A reason why a lot of people cannot tolerate gluten these days is because they’re not eating wheat the way it was supposed to be eaten. Grains have harsh defense chemicals so the fermentation breaks all that down.
 
So, we have decided and made a decision to only use organic flour made with regenerative farming practices and we are one of the only UK bakeries that exclusively use this flour across our entire range. 
 
We are currently starting to run out of space in our tiny micro bakery so we’re hoping that one day very soon we will be welcoming everyone in our bakery shop to enjoy a slice of bread and a cinnamon roll and of course .. A fancy cup of COFFEE.
